Micron 5200 SSD series

From: Bean Huo micron.com Currently UFS WriteBooster driver uses clock scaling up/down to set WB on/off, for the platform which doesn't support UFSHCDCAPCLKSCALING. 1300 SATA SSD The Micron 2300 SSD with NVMe™ combines the power and density needed to drive workstation applications with the compact form factor and power-sipping features demanded by modern mobile users.

There’s an easy way to speed up business-critical workloads that cripple on a hard drive: The Micron® 5200 series of SATA SSDs. Engineered on industry-leading 64-layer 3D NAND, the Micron 5200 SSD delivers best-in-class performance and capacity on the same proven architecture as the 5100 series.* Designed for virtualized server workloads that power your business, such as OLTP, BI/DSS, VDI, block/object, media streaming and more, the low-latency Micron 5200 SSD eliminates storage bottlenecks with fast, consistent performance – and a lower total cost of ownership.

Micron SATA SSDs vs. HDDs Video

Better storage performance means better business performance.

The speed of storage is what dictates how fast your website loads, your cloud infrastructure runs, your inventory reports, and your sales roll in. When the data powering your business lives on hard drives, you’re moving at the slow speed of spinning technology developed 50 years ago, not the instant speed of now. A single Micron SSD allows you to get 3x more performance than an entire shelf of 24 hard drives.** Imagine the impact – across your entire data center.

Use fewer servers to accomplish more.

Share the power of the Micron 5200 SSD in virtualized, hyperconverged, and software-defined storage environments to improve efficiency through server and storage platform consolidation – and simplified IT maintenance. Not only will your virtualized applications respond radically faster, but you’ll also get better CPU utilization through better data throughput. The TCO benefits are obvious: lower power, cooling, software licensing, and colocation costs – four ways SSDs can help you save on an annual basis.

Flex Capacity: simple storage that scales.

Buy one capacity of the Micron 5200 SSD and change it to another as your workloads evolve. Our unique Flex Capacity feature allows you to adjust the drive’s endurance, performance, and capacity to meet dynamic storage needs – and manage fewer products. Save time and money by simply repurposing your Micron 5200 SSD investment as your business grows and your workload and application needs evolve.

Fast. Trusted. Easy. Secure.

Micron scsi interface

Built on the same proven architecture of our award-winning 5100 series that’s been qualified and used by top OEMs, hyperscalers and data centers, the Micron 5200 SSD makes it easy to add more flash into your data center. Hot pluggable and installable in minutes with AES 256-bit encryption, TCG Enterprise options, and adaptive thermal monitoring to keep your data safe, the Micron 5200 SSD leads the industry with the highest published MTTF and lowest annualized drive failure rate for SATA enterprise SSDs.***

Micron quality: from silicon to system

Better SSDs come from better NAND. Period. From silicon to system, we create the memory and flash storage that powers the data center and makes your workloads faster, more reliable, more efficient, and more cost-effective. With the industry’s broadest SATA SSD portfolio, Micron drives are available in all major options and configurations to meet your storage needs.

Driver*The Micron 5200 was the first enterprise SSD available to purchase with 64-layer 3D NAND. Performance comparison based on public data sheet specifications for GB/s throughput and random write IOPS performance for comparable enterprise SATA 2.5-inch mixed use product family as of the date of this document’s publication. Actual performance may vary.
**Based on IOPS performance of 24 hard drives (300GB, 10K RPM, SAS) compared to a single 960GB Micron 5100 PRO SSD in an OLTP workload environment. Results do not reflect differences in capacity and hard drives were not short-stroked. Actual performance may vary. For conceptual purposes only.
***Per public data sheet specifications, the Micron 5200 SSD has a mean time to failure (MTTF) of 3 million device hours, compared to the 2 million hours for SATA enterprise SSDs. Converting these numbers to annualized failure rates gives the Micron 5200 a 0.29% annualized failure rate versus 0.44% for competing drives. Enhanced reliability is the foundation for consistent, predictable performance.
